Sounds similar to my experience with unkosher pizza in my early high school days. It wasn’t until my early college days that I fully understood intellectually the incompatibility of Halachic Orthodoxy with science and reason. It didn’t take long thereafter that I went about 98% OTD.
How odd for the need to eat this sandwich with such emotion, when in an earlier post, this author assured us "he only went oot for intellectual reasons".
One wonders why one must intellectually eat treif in Lakewood. It boggles the mind.
That undermines my original point to be honest, but I'll do it anyways.
The original disassociation can come from intellectual considerations, but there's an emotional fallout to be dealt with. This includes a radical reassessment of core identity, values, and place in society. The actions described in this post are likely the result of such a process
Now you're just trolling. And I'm just assuming that because I think you have more intelligence than to ask the question seriously. I'm done with this thread
I assume neither the intellect nor the emotion are from the purported author, but from the AI. Why is the style so obvious? I was experimenting with ChatGPT to write a story I want to post on IM, and all my iterations sound the same, the same as this post (and many others I see on this site and other sites). It's so boring and derivative.
Totally feel you, in the same predicament.
It also sucks to have to stand out at a conference (not eating) for things you don't believe in anymore.

Stop being a jerk. You know the answer to that question.
Please elaborate.

Yes, and my point was that to describe it as a sandwich "that shouldn't matter" is as unfair a framing as me saying this doesn't sound intellectual.
The sandwich matters to.frum people the same way it matters to the author.

I was always trolling.

Same.
Which is why I don't use it
You know the key question.
Did you go OTD before or after you met the shiksah?
test test -
Is that a real question?
Or just a test?
Or just a test of a test?
Why are you so testy?
It's a rhetorical question meant to trigger thought. Can you cope with that?
