This gives me new perspective on being a convert. Having a Hebrew name ben/bat Avraham singles out converts and makes us visible, but it also connects us to the greatest example of someone saying "what I was raised with makes no sense, and I'm going to seek out something new". Thank you for writing this

Seems a little pretentious to compare yourself to Avraham Avinu... Maybe start a little smaller? Not too much smaller. You could be like Yirmiya the Prophet, he also didn't like what he saw. Or if you prefer, Diogenes.

I don’t think that Nochum believes in the historical Avraham Avinu. Nor do I think he buys in to your ownership over the biblical figure.

This is very nice - Avraham went around his land to help people find the beauty in the Truth. This is the crucial point. To show people how to follow in the path laid by God is not simple - but it is worthwhile
